Dr. Sandy Colvard, ND

Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist

Dr. Sandy Colvard is a licensed naturopathic physician providing a total wellness approach for your body, mind, and spirit.

From Dr. Colvard

“My goal as a physician is to assist and offer guidance for each patient on their individual path back to health. I focus on supporting each patient's physical, emotional, and spiritual health; working to create a setting where the body will begin the healing process. Using my medical knowledge along with my naturopathic principles, I work to diagnose, treat, and provide support and encouragement for each patient that walks through my door.”

Why choose Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Physicians treat their patients, not their conditions.  We focus on the cause of the illness, rather than only treating specific symptoms. We give the patient’s body what it requires to come back to a healthy state, removing any obstacle to healing while empowering each patient with the knowledge they need to restore the inherent vitality within. Naturopathic Physicians work with the patient to establish a treatment plan that will work with the patient’s lifestyle while, most importantly, restoring balance and well-being.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

A Licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) attends a four-year graduate level naturopathic medical school & is educated in all of the basic sciences as well as holistic, alternative, and natural approaches to medical conditions. There is a strong emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness. An NMD takes rigorous professional board exams to be licensed by the state as a primary care, board certified physician.

What Treatments Do I Use?

·         Acupuncture – One of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedures in the world

·         Clinical Nutrition – “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.” - Hippocrates. The basis of naturopathic medicine, the core of our health

·         Botanical Medicine – The use of plants for medicinal purposes

·         Counseling and Stress Management – Mental attitudes and emotional states are as important in disease as well as our healing

·         Homeopathy – Small energetic doses of medicines specifically selected to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal

·         Physical Medicine – Hydrotherapy and gentle body alignment techniques produce profound healing
